MAS Active is aiming to be rid of single use plastics by 2021. Commonly visible in landfill and garbage dump sites, disposable plastics are one of the highest contributors to ocean pollution. The multiyear project, which started in 2018 is implemented in 4 stages.
As sustainable clothing manufacturers, we are committed to reforest 100 times the space we occupy by 2025. MAS Active has achieved 1:6 of the land area in their road map for this target. At present, renewable energy contributes only 40% to Sri Lanka's energy grid. Our commitment as eco friendly clothing manufacturers to reduce this imbalance with renewable sources. Formed back in 2013, the Aqua Nature Club provides means for employees take part in sustainability initiatives organized by MAS. All activities are conducted under 3 main pillars; Education, Conservation and Field Visits, to drive awareness and engagement among participants.
With focus on environmental protection and the 5S methodology, Linea Aqua conducts school awareness programs in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages for the next generation. The sessions are led by Aqua Nature Club members.
