Already have your swimwear designs ready to go? Let’s get you right into finalizing your collection with the Custom Styles ( previously Sample Making) Package.
Perhaps you’re not a newbie and nor are you well versed in the whole tech-speak of designing swimwear. No sweat, because Runway Kit’s got the package just for you: Custom Styles.
The Custom Styles package is a perfect fit if you’ve got the inspiration board, images and tech packs and technical information for your designs.
By having all the material ready to go, our team of designers and manufacturers can put together your samples and get you prepped to go into the manufacturing stage.
Here’s everything you need to know when placing an order from this package to create samples for your own designs.
Heads up – if you’re new to swimsuit or activewear styling and manufacturing, and don’t have design years under your belt, our Ready Styles package might be your best option.
A little lost?
Head on over to our Ready Styles page to see what it is all about.
If you need help in placing a Ready Styles order read our step by step guide on how to place an order from this package.
- The package is open to styles in both swimwear and activewear.
- The package offers the user two virtual rounds of prototyping. This is a computer-graphic image sample that allows the designer to virtually assess the sample prior to manufacturing. These two stages will allow the designer to fine-tune the styles and iron out any details to perfect it.
- One fit physical sample of the design. The sample will be made using the same fabric quality that was agreed upon with available colors.
- A trim card that details all fabric swatches and significant trims for reference purposes. An updated color card(s), measurement sheet(s) and tech pack will be included, as well.
- The designer can opt to proceed into bulk manufacturing with Runway Kit through the online platform if he or she wishes to do so.
- Package cost tagged at USD599 per style
Best for experienced designers or brands, who are very clear on their style and range plans and have all the necessary technical information including technical sketches and tech packs to produce a sample.

How to place a Sample Making order
In this section, we’ve got a few screen grabs to walk you through the process in a little more detail. Let’s take a look.
Once you click on the Custom Styles Package, you will be taken to a form submission page that will ask you to fill in some details.
These include information about your project, category of your product (i.e. swimwear or activewear) and your audience (i.e. women’s, men’s or kid’s).
Once you select the product category and audience, you will be requested to upload all relevant documents relating to the collection.
These include design sketches, detail sketches, inspirational images, fabric and trim details, embellishment details and base size measurement sheets.
Note: We’ve included sample documents of what each form should include and we highly encourage users to upload as much information as possible to allow for a more streamlined process.
Once all the above-listed information is submitted, we will ask a few more questions to understand your collection a little better.
These include questions such as a brief overview of your business, target market, target audience income level, product category, estimated quantity for manufacturing and so on.
Why do we ask these?
We want to get to know your intent, customer and product to the best of our ability so that we can deliver best-in-class products for you at the quickest time to shelf.
Once you’ve filled out all the relevant information, you have the option to upload any on-garment logo details, as well. Keep in mind that logos require initial molding and thus come at an extra cost.
Logo add-ons are charged independently taking into account factors such as logo complexity.
All costs will be detailed prior to check out.
After all the files have been submitted, click on Submit and you will be taken to the payment page. This page details all costs and surcharges (if any).
If you exit this page or proceed with your payment details, you will be directed to your dashboard.
If you don’t have the full monty on your design specifications and technical details, we strongly recommend that you simply exit the page without finalizing your payment.
This won’t erase your progress but will simply save everything you have completed so far and allow the design and manufacturing teams to take a look at all the information that you have uploaded and get back to you on the feasibility of launching the collection.
Once you are taken back to the dashboard, you can click on the Message icon to get in touch with one of our team members. Alternatively, if you want to make changes or add-ons to your existing style, click on the three dots (More).
Lastly, if you want to start afresh and create a new style, click on ‘Create New Sample Style’ and the process will start from the top.
